A monument to his memory on pl Jamblinne de Meux was destroyed by the occupying Germans in 1940. To replace this the Central Society of Belgian Architects commissioned a simple, very moving monument by Jacques Nisot which was inaugurated in Parc Josaphat on 12 March 1974.  Executed with Edith Cavell.
