Born Ypres. Founder of social works, Member of the "Luc" information network in WW2, helped the evacuation of endangered people from France, and helped Jewish children. Arrested 9 Oct 1942, liberated from Dachau April 1945. Published his experiences of captivity. Died in a car accident.
