Full name: Viscount João Baptista da Silva Leitão de Almeida Garrett. Writer (prose, poetry and plays), orator, and statesman. Born Porto, Portugal. Died Lisbon Portugal. He graduated in law but in 1823 his liberalism forced him into exile in England.
