Born Antoine Carte in Mons, he began to sign as Anto-Carte in 1907. A founder member of the Nervia group of artists. He was not Catholic but his work can be seen in Ixelles in the Church of La Cambre Abbey: stained glass in the entrance and the choir, plus 12 paintings for the Stations of the Cross.
Died in Ixelles.
