Surrealist. Jean-Michel Pochet tells us that in "Don't tell Sybill", Heinemann, 1997, George Melly provides the following information:
Mesens worked in London and edited "London Bulletin". Between 1936 and 1950 he exhibited Magritte, Dali, Delvaux, Chirico, Ernst, Miro, etc. In October 1932, at the bankruptcy of The Centaur Gallery, Mesens made his name (and his fortune?) by buying 150 Magritte paintings.
