Born Bruxelles. Civil engineer and electrical mechanic at the Free University of Brussels in 1940. He formed and ran Group G, a resistance network made up of colleagues from his university specialising in sabotage. He organised "la grande coupure": on 15 January 1944 the posts of many high-tension cables were cut down, across the country. He was hung at Buchenwald on 6 November (if you believe the Dictionnaire des Belges, or on 6 September (if you believe the plaque) 1944.
